I discovered her website while I was planning a trip a few years ago, and it has become my go-to for anything I need to know. You’ve probably seen one of her dreamy picture in exotic destinations pop up on your Instagram feed at one point. She covers everything from luxury to budget travel, volunteer travel, and more. In addition to maintaining a travel blog, Kiersten offers all-female tours which are perfect if you’re not exactly ready to be utterly alone in a new country.
What makes her blog unique is that her target audience is solo females. Traveling the world alone as a woman can feel intimidating. Especially when everyone around you acts shocked to hear what you’re doing and mentions the awful travel stories they heard on the news. As much as you may appreciate their concern, take it with a grain of salt. There is an abundance of accurate information you can find online on whether or not a country is safe, but few sites offering real advice on being a female alone in the country. Many other bloggers tend to skip over crucial details about the country that can make your trip so much easier. They show you cool spots, but not how to get there. She dives more in-depth than the Instagram worthy shots and makes you feel confident in your journey. Not only is this information valuable to her female readers, but it’s one of the only blogs you can specific information on the little things we tend to forget about while traveling, like plugs.
